Black Men Smile® Partners With The Black Man Project for UnMASKulinity Dinner

This December, Black Men Smile® partnered with The Black Man Project to host 16 Black men in an intimate dinner and discussion on issues of vulnerability.

The dinner took place on Emory University's campus on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 and was part of The Black Man Project's UnMASKulinity Tour — a project that will culminate in a documentary of the same name sometime next year.

In addition to the conversation, the dinner featured a performance by cellist OkCello and an art installation by sculptor Anthony Suber.

UnMASKulinity is the work of filmmaker Brian Ellison, anthropologist Marlon Hall, and sculptor Anthony Suber who have formed a Guild of Griots to travel the country creating spaces of vulnerability and archiving the stories of black men who talk about the masks we wear and the freedom we may find if we take them off.
